REJECTION BY BEHAVIOUR

It is much ideal to have more than a minister in a church, whether large or small as long as the church can cater and cherish them. After all, A.C.F.M. at Akwu/Obuor and Okehi have more than two ministers, likewise Egbeke during the stay of Rev. L.O. Chioma, Levi Anele, and with Apostle Collins Nwogu. But you may think, why do I see anything wrong in the station at Umuokom Ulakwo, my new station. This thought might perfectly be okay because some people have not known why I wrote to the bishop refuting the offer of transfer to Umuokom Ulakwo station. Some might think it is because of the late Sam Agubulom's wife who is still living in the parsonage. Whatever may be the thought of man, I’m a bit responsible for that for not disclosing my intention to them unless a few of them I felt like briefing them about it. But it is not a surprise that even some ministers whom I know quite well have listened to the wrong voice and concluded that I did wrong. None of them has ever called me to ask what has really happened for me to write to the bishop except Evangelist Iheanachor Kingdom and Rev. Nwaiwu Ozioma, although they are all my relations.

Truthfully, I have nothing against the late Rev. Agubulom’s wife. My problem is from the members as seen below:

1. That I reported to the church on 7th of February, 2021, the members did not hand me over the church. Instead, Elder Kenneth, their spokesman said, they don’t welcome a minister who comes for his belly.

2. That after Thanksgiving (on the same Sunday mentioned above), one of the church officials brought the offerings and poured them on my seat with much disregard while I was attending to a member. As I returned to sit, I saw the money scattered and littered all over the chair.

3. That I wanted to convene a meeting with the elders and deaconesses, they showed a recalcitrant attitude over it.

4. On the next week, 14th February, 2021, during the conclusion of Sunday School, after my speech, the late Rev. Sam Agubulom’s wife said a little thing to the study, some of the members began to clap their hands, praising her thereby humiliating me.

5. That during an announcement on the same Sunday mentioned above, I said should they wish to reject me, they’re free to meet with bishop because I don’t want in a situation whereby people’s minds are so biased, filled with hatred towards me. The same elder said, Umuokom Ulakwo don’t reject a minister posted to them that it is the minister that rejects himself, and a minister who comes for his belly they reject.

6. That they heard rumours about me which he did not mention.

7. That I needed to see some church officials after church service, Elder Kenneth said, he wanted to react to it that I would not see any of them unless they have their own meeting and they will tell the church officials what they will tell me.

You may say, those issues mentioned above are nothing to warrant me to decline the offer. Yes, you are right. But were you there to see their facial outlooks, and feel their attitude towards me?
If you are a visitor, and the owner of the house does not offer you a place to sit down, but only keeps you standing – without even saying that he/she has asked someone to bring a chair for you, my dear, you’re not welcome, so you need to find your way home.

Haven’t you read scriptures like Matthew 10:14

“If no one welcomes you or listens to your words, as you leave that house or town, shake its dust off your feet”.

With all indications, Ulakwo Station did not welcome me, I therefore shake its dust off my feet.

I thank God that Umuokom Ulakwo station is a large church which every minister is longing to go, but my spirit was bitter to continue with them. I have ministered and worked in Umuozoche Station day and night with God's help ensuring that the church stand firmly in faith. With God's help, I revived the church, built a modern parsonage, bought some instruments for worship and moulded some blocks to erect a new church building. I built the church out of nothing, during the period of nine years.

So, if I regret to minister with Umuokom Station, something is wrong. I was the one to right the wrongs but there's no enabling environment to do so.
