REJECTION BY BEHAVIOUR

It is much ideal to have more than a minister in a church, whether large or small as long as the church can cater and cherish them. After all, A.C.F.M. at Akwu/Obuor and Okehi have more than two ministers, likewise Egbeke during the stay of Rev. L.O. Chioma, Levi Anele, and with Apostle Collins Nwogu. But you may think, why do I see anything wrong in the station at Umuokom Ulakwo, my new station. This thought might perfectly be okay because some people have not known why I wrote to the bishop refuting the offer of transfer to Umuokom Ulakwo station. Some might think it is because of the late Sam Agubulom's wife who is still living in the parsonage. Whatever may be the thought of man, I’m a bit responsible for that for not disclosing my intention to them unless a few of them I felt like briefing them about it. But it is not a surprise that even some ministers whom I know quite well have listened to the wrong voice and concluded that I did wrong. None of them has ever called me to as...

ARE YOU WALKING WITH JESUS?

ARE YOU WALKING WITH JESUS? A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu on 09/02/2020 Introduction There was a little track road in one village, and this road was always lonely and deadly. Any one who passed through it hardly returned safely. Some people who went out for economic or business activities without returning home were assumed to have been slaughtered along the area, which was really the case. Countless people had been slaughtered in that zone, and villagers were alarming for the dangers which had beset the area but were unable to rescue themselves, and government never had ears to listen to their plights. One day, it was confirmed that people were maimed, robbed, and raped, and this information really devastated all the villagers with a great tumor, causing a sense of hopelessness, and despair in them.  “Who will rescue us?” They groaned. A little girl of 14 years old, dressed up, and was ready to go to school. She must pass through the track road, and if she would avert the danger...

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE

Remember Who You Are, a sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu Introduction A little girl grew under the care of her guardian, Janet, due to she had lost her father, an Anglican priest and her mum could not provide for the family. Before the death of her father, her father called Janet, her guardian, and handed her over to her to take care of her. As this little child was growing, she became very much acquainted with new modern technologies in her guardian’s house, and tended to live a luxurious life, using make ups, fixing her eye lashes, and fingernails. One day, as she dressed up for a night club, and it happened it was her first time to go for the club, Mrs. Janet sat her down and said, “Remember who you are. You were born to a Christian family, and bred in a Christian family too. Why do you tend to live a worthless life, a life that would never transform your spiritual life? How soon have you forgotten that you are a pastor’s child? You now wear trousers, artificial hair, fixing your ...

IN WHOSE BOAT ARE YOU DURING YOUR LIFE STORM?

A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu (Call +234-8034- 367-982) Introduction There was a woman who was about entering a boat with her little boy of five years old. The child sighted two boats that were readily available, and then told her mum that they shouldn't enter the bigger boat because he knew the owner- his boat always capsized (keel over) killing alot of lives. However, the woman heeded her son's advice, and then both of them entered the smaller boat. In the middle of their journey, there was a fierce storm, and the sailor, piloting the smaller boat began to pray: "The Lord of the seas, for your mercies, save us!" The passengers joined him in prayers, and the Lord saved them all, while the bigger boat with a large number of souls suffered the storm and perished because they were in a boat of an inexperienced sailor. In fact, they were in a wrong boat, none of them called on the name of Jesus Christ. Our introductory passage has paved a way for us to grasp the hi...

Restore to Me My Joy of Your Salvation

January 18, 2020 A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu Psa 51:12 NHEB  Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit. Introduction There is no man on earth that has not in one way or the other experienced the joy of the LORD in his life. Though some people right from their childhood experience pain, and sorrow- their lives know no joy or happiness, while some people's lives progress from happiness to sorrow due to some circumstances, or crimes committed. To crown it all, sins drag away man's joy of salvation. David's crime of adultery with Bathsheba almost devastated his life. The story of this event really shows how human beings reason in some cases, a train of thoughts that are connected to produce that which is inimical, and diabolical to humanity. The story is told and we learn that: David casted his lustful eyes on Bathsheba, which led to committing of adultery, and his subsequent murder of Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba. For David to invite U...

DON’T LIVE IN FEAR

DON’T LIVE IN FEAR (A sermon delivered by Fortune Nwaiwu on Wed. 19th  June, 2019) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” – 2 Tim. 1:7 NLT Introduction Fear is a psychological phenomenon, a deadly game that may not lead one to the level one desires or to achieve one's aspirations. There are a lot of people who are living under the umbrella of fear. It could be the fear of lack, the fear of losing a partner, job, or the fear of death- living in sickness, or the fear of rejection. Whatever it may be, remember that God has not given you the spirit of fear. Then why must you live in fear? Why would you be afraid of the house rent you have not yet renewed? Why would you be afraid of that your seaming condition now? Why would you fear for the sickness that has bedridden you now? Do you think that God does not see you at the moment of your despair, a time it pains, hurting you all the time? Remember, fear is a weapon of Satan, whi...

JESUS IS KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR

Jesus  is Knocking  A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu on Sun. 9th June, 2019. Introduction : There are different varieties of doors. We have interior doors, exterior doors, glass doors, and wooden doors. But in all, the door that Jesus Christ is Knocking on is your very HEART. Heart is a domain of forces, supposedly a dwelling home of God. Jesus is eager and meek to come into your heart and dwell in there to feed you with good thoughts nourishing your soul to keep it secure from danger and sin, and to give it life in abundance but Satan is aggressively fighting to steal it. Jesus Christ says: ‘The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly', John 10:10 NHEB. There are people whose souls have been stolen by Satan with the wealth of this world, and they tend to believe that they have gotten all they want in life. Such people are not only unbelievers but also some church members. Their belief in self-satisfac...

IS YOUR NAME REGISTERED IN HEAVEN?

A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu on Sun 16th June, 2019. "But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven." Luke 10:20 NLT. Introduction: I see that there are some unfathomable mysteries about human existence and the relationship of soul and his maker which some men of this world are unable to discover because they don’t want to know. We are too attached to everything about the external part of our lives which comprises of our needs i.e. education, business and social life, and we then show less concern to the inward, the real man. The inward is the essence of being human, and when we fail to recognise how important it is, it's said to have been tarnished because great harm of negligence has been done to it. In this era of civilization, registrations are no longer done with analogue (registering in a book) but with a computer and saved in a database. In the banking industry, if you didn’t register your bank accoun...

WHERE IS YOUR HOPE?

WHERE IS YOUR HOPE? A sermon preached on the Easter Sunday, 21st April, 2019 by Rev. Fortune Nwaiwu Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death”− Job 14:14 NLT. I preach from the angle of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who was crucified. We see that there were many people in those days that had committed crimes and were supposed to die based on the Law of Moses (i.e. the man that committed adultery with the woman that was brought to Jesus that he saved) but no one sentenced them to death. But why is it that our Lord Jesus Christ, an innocent soul was crucified? He came to show us the way, to save us from the power of sin. In order to fulfil the scriptures, he was destined to die for us all, but his people did not know him. ...

THE GOD OF ELEVENTH HOUR

Sermon 16. THE GOD OF ELEVENTH HOUR by Fortune Nwaiwu “And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and said unto them, why stand ye here all the day idle?”─ Matt. 20:6 KJV. B rethren, do you know that an “eleventh hour” is an idiomatic expression which means the last hour─ the last possible moment for doing something [before it’s too late]. From the “Parable of the Vineyard workers” told in Matt. 20:1-7, we see a set of people who were not employed to work in the vineyard of God. They were like applicants seeking for employments but no one was hiring them, and so they stood idle perhaps in a main road or street. When there was a massive recruitment, their applications were not honored, and in the subsequent one, no one considered them but it was by God’s mercy that they were found standing idle at the late hour, a time they might have considered themselves as unlucky fellows, a time their children would look unto them for ...

DON'T SHARE YOUR SECRETS

sermon 8.   Don't Share Your Secrets A sermon preached on 18th February, 2018. "A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence"--- Proverb 11:13 NLT. Introduction A   man was seen at the front of a bank inserting his ATM card into an ATM machine, and he was using his hands and body to cover where he was putting his ATM secret PIN (security code). His reason for doing that was that he did not want people to know about his PIN, to avoid being swindled or defrauded. He could tell people the bank he operates with, but he would never disclose his secret PIN to them. He knows that his PIN is a password to his blessings and a source of his livelihood. If he tells people about his secret, he could be ruined and doomed. I then remembered a man who told his son all about his ATM card PIN, and his son secretly took it to withdraw money. Thank God that the son was apprehended by police on the way, when...

Courage, Don't Stumble

sermon 4.       Courage, Don’t Stumble A Sermon Preached on Sunday 15/07/2018. Text: Matthew 11:1-6 I llustration: There was a young man whose mother was seriously ill, he then fasted and prayed for God to heal his mother, and yet, his mother did not survive. On that day the man’s mother died, he regretted ever going to church. Since then his life became terrible, he found solace in drinking alcohol and smoking until he was diagnosed of lung cancer and pneumonia. The spiritual problems of the man 1.  He worships God when things are well with him.                                           2.     He’s not a core Christian, he’s like a dry leaf or a chaff that can be tossed by wind at a moment of trials.                               ...
