CHRIST IS THE KING

#Sermon 5. CHRIST IS THE KING “Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem, look your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey’s colt” — Zechariah 9:9 NLT Text: Matthew 21:1—17 Jesus Christ came to the world first as Saviour and will come again as King. His kingship had been prophesied by many prophets as an unbiased and righteous ruler who would come from the lineage of King David. For many years, Israelites have had wicked and bad Kings who were characterized by terror, anarchy, injustice and mayhem. To comfort God’s own children who had been subjected to the brutality and wickedness of the worldly kings, Prophet Zechariah proclaimed to his people saying: “Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem, look your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey’s colt” — Zechariah 9:9 NLT. For someone to tell s...

WEEP NO MORE

₦Sermon 54 YOU SHALL WEEP NO MORE “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be more pain for the former things are passed away” —Rev. 21:4 KJV                                                                                                                            Texts: Rev. 21:1-5 Weeping entails the groaning of the inner being which may burst out to crying and shedding of painful and sorrowful tears. This comes to play when someone is emotionally distressed and frustrated because of the terrors, harrows and colossal tragedies that would beset a man. Basically, people at times...

GOD USES ORDINARY PEOPLE

₦Sermon 53       GOD USES ORDINARY PEOPLE                                                          A Sermon delivered during a child dedication of Chizom from Umuozoche Igbodo Etche R/S But the Lord Said: Go, for Saul is my chosen Instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and Kings as well as the people of Israel –Acts 9:15            Reading Texts: Acts 14:8-12, 1Samuel 17:40-51 Glory be to the name of the Most High God who made heaven and earth. He sent His only Son to come and die for entire humanity. He is the Lord and the reason that we are here today. It is only by His grace and unfailing love to be alive in this world of terror, anarchy and tragedies. Our message today will graphically depict God’s nature of love and wills to select people of less importance in a societ...

THE WEAPONS SHALL KILL THE WEAPONERS

₦Sermon 52 The WEAPONS SHALL KILL THE WEAPONERS: A sermon preached at “A.C.F.M” Umuozoche Igbodo During the Crisis in Etche Land “He grabbed Goliath’s sword, drew it from its sheath, killed him and cut off his head with it” —1Samuel 17:51 NET. Glory be to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Our lives are in the hands of our Creator and for this singular fact; we should ascribe all our honour and adoration to the Living God. My message today will cast out fear from the troubling hearts that are frightened by the weapons of the devil. The scripture says: “No weapon fashioned against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servant of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me says the Lord — Isaiah 54:17 KJV. Before we proceed, I would like to point out some unintentional omission of the expression, “And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn”. Thi...

REMEMBER THE POOR IN YOUR LAND

₦Sermon 51             REMEMBER THE POOR IN YOUR LAND A sermon delivered during a harvest time at Umuozoche Station “Remember to include the Levites and the foreigners living among you in the celebration” —Deut. 26:11 NLT. A poor man owns nothing and he needs help from his neighbours. Every Christian is expected to devote his or her time in the ministry of helping the poor. It is really a glaring contradiction to say before the entire congregation during harvest time that we have given our sacrosanct gifts from our house to the Levites, foreigners, orphans and widows — Deut. 26:13 when we did not. Harvest time is a especial period we’d show more of our love and concerns to the poor to join us for the merriment because God has really made it so possible for us to plant and harvest our crops. The sc ripture says, we should include the poor — Levites, foreigners and widows in our harvest celebration. Thus, without showing our love and concerns t...

A CALL TO RETURN TO GOD

₦Sermon 50                           A CALL TO RETURN TO GOD (A sermon delivered in a fasting and prayer during the crisis in Egbeke community)      “Return to me and I will return to you, says the Lord”— Mal 3:7. God, at times can never come back to us unless we return to him, turn away from our wickedness. Our gathering today will yield a positive result because we have come to seek the Lord. God says: “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I’ll hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land”— 2 Chronicles 7:14. Brethren, let us return to God by turning from our wicked ways. Eli and his family were destroyed because they turned away from God. They feel that God does not exist and they no longer honour God in all their activities. The two sons of Eli — Hophni and Phinehas became rebellious by...

TAKE NOT YOUR HOLY SPIRIT FROM ME

₦Sermon 49 TAKE NOT YOUR HOLY SPIRIT AWAY FROM ME (A Sermon Preached by Rev. Fortune E.C. Nwaiwu) “Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take away your Holy Spirit from me”   ——Psalm 51:11 NLT. The great man in battle who sees in the open and secret places who forgives sin, we worship you this very moment for there is none like you. You are beyond equal. You are above human imagination! Chorus —    You are the Lord, that is your name   And you will never share your glory with any man; You will never share your glory with anybody,     Almighty God that is your name. Brethren, today is a wonderful day for the glory of God. I want to tell you that when one is banished from the presence of God, it implies that God’s Holy Spirit has deserted the one. When King Saul became disobedient unto God’s instruction to kill everything both animal and human being of Amalek, God deserted him because he spared the life of King Agag who had ma...

ARE YOU QUICKLY SHAKEN FROM YOUR REASON?

₦Sermon 48               ARE YOU QUICKLY SHAKEN FROM YOUR REASONS?  “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by Spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that day of Christ is at hand”— 2 Thessalonians 2:2                       Texts: 2 Thess. 2:2-15, 2 Peter 3:6. Brethren, we praise God today for his protection and guidance. Our message today will focus on how believers should avoid being quickly shaken from their faith in Christ Jesus. Let us consider our text from the second book of Thessalonians as was written by Paul. This second epistle from apostle Paul was probably written to the Thessalonians when Paul the apostle of Christ was at Corinth (Acts 18:11) to correct some costly errors which the Thessalonian believers might have in mind from the first epistle, (1 Thessalonians) concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ which they erroneously ...

UNDER THE SHADOW OF ALMIGHTY

₦Sermon 47 UNDER THE SHADOW OF ALMIGHTY “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”— Psalm 91:1 KJV.                                           Text: Psalm 91:1-16, Psalm 121: 1-8. We believe that a shadow is a dark image projected onto a surface where light is blocked by the shade of an object (the English Dictionary). When there is no light, darkness will dominate and the place that is dark no man will be able to see any object that is hidden in it.  In God’s place it is believed that anybody that is found there is secured and an enemy would not be able to see him or her in such a place because he lives under the shadow of God. Such a place is called the secret place of the Most High where a fugitive runs to for safety. When someone lives under the shadow of God, he is secure, from being afraid. ...

WAKE UP, WAKE UP

₦Sermon 46 WAKE UP! WAKE UP!  “Wake up for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed” — Romans 13:11, NLT.  Texts: Romans 13: 11 – 14, 1 Thessalonians 5:6, Matt. 25:13, Eph. 6:12, Rev. 2:5, 3:3 There is one famous analogy that Satan called his disciples and sent them a deadly mission to attack the Christians. One reported to him that he had killed many Christians. This disciple expected his master (Satan) to appreciate his dreadful act but Satan wasn’t happy. He replied to his disciples that he shouldn’t have killed them because they are all going to heaven (Selah — remember the story of Stephen — his death and the death of John the Baptist) thus, Satan was not happy because those righteous ones are going to heaven. The second disciple of Satan  reported that he had put to destruction the properties of the Christians with a great enthusiasm that Satan would appreciate him but Satan replied to him that he did not do well because they will now come...

DIVINE FAVOUR

₦Sermon 45                              DIVINE FAVOUR                               “May the LORD show you his favour and give you his peace” Numbers – 6:26                               Bible Reading: Numbers 6:24-26, Gen. 12:1-3, 1 Samuel 16:11-13, John 5:2-9 I praise the name of the Most High GOD for bringing us together today to commune with him in his glorious splendor. Hallelujah! Brethren, I really want to bless the name of God for HIM to bless His Word. We pray that may his word to night bring hope and comfort into our mortal souls. Amen. I want to tell you that favour does not come from any man unless God endorses it and that is what it’s called “Divine Favour”. Any favour from a man is by God’s will. The divine favour is a deed don...
