THE DECREE MUST BE CHANGED
Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee,
and the light shine upon thy ways. Job 22: 28 KJV
Esther 3-4 and Daniel 3:29
The glorious light of the world deserves all our praises and worship. He needs to be glorified for he has given us life and in him we put our trust. Praise God!
Chorus – I have no other God but you
I have no other God but you
You have done what no man has done
You will do what no man can do
Our message today will explicate and unfold some certain things that have come against man and make a way out.
A decree is a declaration or pronouncement either made against or for. To say a decree must be changed implies that the curses and negative influences of people’s declarations asserted against man must be reversed. This is because with faith, we can decree a thing and it shall be established unto us.
In the province of Susa comes a man called Haman, the Agagite who ventured to exercise his honour accorded to him by King Xerxes against the Jews because Mordecai refused to bow down before him ( a mere human being) and this prompted Haman to make punitive policies on how to execute the Jews. He articulated his speech in such a way that it seemed convincing and appealing. King Xerxes welcomed the crooked idea that the Jews be destroyed for not obeying the law of the king. This decree was made and sealed with the King’s signet ring confirming the high magnitude of its authentication. The Lord who works in mysterious ways made circumstances to work contrary to the expectation of the wicked Haman. The decree which says the Jews be destroyed for not obeying the human law was later changed for their favour. Haman who planned to execute Mordecai on the gallows he has made was rather impaled on it. This is in line with what Christ says in the Gospel book of Matthew 7:2 that “the way that you judge others will be the way that you will be judged, and you will be evaluated by the standard with which you evaluated others”. Thus, the decree was made so that the innocent souls would perish but by the will of Almighty, the decree was reversed.
Esther came to the king after the death of Haman and said: “If it please the king, and if I found favour with him, and if he thinks it is right, and if I’m pleasing to him, let there be a decree that reverses the orders of Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite who ordered that the Jews throughout all the king’s provinces should be destroyed — Esther 8:5 The three coordinating conjunctions “and” and followed by conditional phrases that begin with “if” found in Esther’s appeal to the king indicate or reveal to the King to see the necessary conditions he would take into consideration in liberating the Jews from such a death sentence. As the decree was reversed, it claimed the lives of the ten sons of Haman (Esther 9:13-14).
Also, we cannot forget the lessons from what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego passed through. In the land of Babylon, these three Jewish personalities flouted the order to bow down to the statue of king Nebuchadnezzar. Remember that a decree was passed to the people of all races and nations to obey and bow down to the statues and anyone who refuses to obey would immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace. However, this decree was not obeyed by the three men that fear the Living God. They were immediately thrown into the burning furnace which was heated seven times hotter than usual. Why? This is because they said the simple truth that, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we’re thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He’ll rescue us from your power, you majesty” – Daniel 3:16-17
The three Jewish men in one accord and one voice said without being afraid before the king that the God they serve will surely recue them from the furnace. Their declaration and pronouncement was superb and powerful which was hinged in the faith they have in God. Anyone who believes in God, any decree passed against him will be reversed.
When the three men were thrown into the furnace, their enemies that threw them there were immediately burnt to ashes and the Living Lord came to be among his people in that burning furnace which became a surprise to the people that do not know God. Hear Nebuchadnezzar speak —“I make this decree: if any people, whatever their race or nation or language, speak a word against the God of Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego, they will be torn limb, and their houses will be turned into heaps of rubble —Daniel 3:29
Brethren, don’t be frightful. There is no amount of decree that would come against you. No amount of curse would be made by any man either by your parents or be it whosoever that might make it, it’ll work in favour of you just like how God was with Mordecai and his people in the province of Susa and with the three Jewish men, he’ll also be with you to reverse those negative influences in your life through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus nailed the handwriting of evil, curses, judgement etc written against you and made an open show of it on the cross— Col. 2:14.
Today as you have heard this message in faith, the decree of curses, failure in life, barrenness, death and sorrows made on you have been changed and reversed in your favour in Jesus name, amen.

O God revert any curse or decree passed into my life! “Revive me according to your gracious love; and I will keep the decrees that you have proclaimed”— Psalm 119:88 ISV.
