UNDER THE SHADOW OF ALMIGHTY

₦Sermon 47
UNDER THE SHADOW OF ALMIGHTY

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”— Psalm 91:1 KJV.
                                          Text: Psalm 91:1-16, Psalm 121: 1-8.

We believe that a shadow is a dark image projected onto a surface where light is blocked by the shade of an object (the English Dictionary). When there is no light, darkness will dominate and the place that is dark no man will be able to see any object that is hidden in it.  In God’s place it is believed that anybody that is found there is secured and an enemy would not be able to see him or her in such a place because he lives under the shadow of God. Such a place is called the secret place of the Most High where a fugitive runs to for safety.
When someone lives under the shadow of God, he is secure, from being afraid.  There is no need for him to fear any evil, the terror of the night or the arrow that flies in the day. The person will sleep and will not be attacked in the dream because some people die based on the account that they are being attacked in a dream. But you that live under the shadow of God will not be attacked by the dreadful arrows of the enemies that fly in the day.

As you make God your refuge, you will not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness. Even if your enemy has endeavoured to poison you with some devilish charms, it will not work for him. Instead he will see you bouncing in good health because you live under the shadow of God.

The disaster that strikes at mid-day shall not touch you.  When it is happening at front, the Almighty will make you to be at back and – verse-versa.

A woman whose children are rich was kidnapped from her sleeping room. As the kidnappers passed the gate and were carrying the woman to put into their car booth, they seemed to have been pursued by a mighty band of warriors or soldiers. They left the woman there and ran away for their lives and the old woman in that night used the opportunity to run into a bush and slept their till the dawn of the day.

Brethren, we have seen that there was no band of soldiers that made those kidnappers to leave the woman and run away other than the presence of God. He has come into the case of the woman. The woman was a devoted believer and who had also trained all her children in the way of the Lord.  Then, the God who has promised his people to rescue them at the time of their trouble came for the woman’s case. God is a great warrior and his presence alone creates fear in the minds of his enemies and causes them to tremble and run away. Therefore, we should not fear the disaster that may strike at any time. A thousand may fall at your sides, though ten thousand are dying around you. What are those things falling and dying around you?  They are the dreadful charms or talisman your enemies are sending against you and God is always keeping you safe from any spiritual battle. They may invoke the spirits of the dead ones to come and attack you but because you live under the cover of God, such spirits are rendered powerless to execute their devilish mission on you. Such evils will not come upon you; instead they will backfire to the senders. The Psalmist says, just open your eyes and see how the wicked are punished.

Living under the protective wings of God brings a promise of deliverance. As David lives under the shadow of God he was able to escape the wrath of Saul on him. He was also able to escape from the house of Abimelech who would hand him over to his enemy. The fact is that no evil shall come against the one who lives under the shadow of God because he will order his angels to protect him from anywhere he goes and no harm shall touch him. Therefore brethren let us draw close to God so that we may be under his powerful and protective wings.

————Meditation Point——————
Lord Jesus! May we continue to abide in your protective wings so that our enemies and the flying arrows that strike at any time will not attack or hurt us — Amen!

EVIL DISEASE

sermon 2. EVIL DISEASE A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu on 23/12/2018 “A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honor, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it, this is vanity, and it is an evil disease,’─ Ecclesiastes 6:2 KJV. Brethren, as we are all here this hour, I want you to know that the diseases people suffer from are not only HIV/AIDS, diabetes, typhoid and malaria or any other infections either curable or incurable. Our today’s homily will point out some areas that will enable us know the kind of diseases that have infected many people which most of medical doctors have not discovered but they fail to research in the scriptures as the anchor of their professions. King Solomon, the preacher discovers the most grievous affliction of human beings, a man blessed with riches, wealth and honor which have made him to lack nothing did not utilize his blessings in the fe...

GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU

₦Sermon 18 GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU “Then God remembered Rachel, He listened to her and opened her womb” ——— Gen. 30:22.   Texts: Isaiah 49:15-16, Gen. 8:1-3, Gen. 30:22, Human beings feel that they are being forgotten especially when they are facing trials and tribulations. One thing with our God is that he does not forget his people. He knows the appropriate time to settle our problems; the problem of barrenness, hardship and poverty. To tell us how important we are to him, God says: “See, I have written your name on the Palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:16). This graphically means that every man’s problem is in the hands of God and which he will never forget to solve the problem of his children. Thus, the true picture of what the Christians are passing through here on earth is always in the mind of God. According to the scripture (Isaiah 49:16) for God to write our name on the palms of his hands means that whatever he has planned  for us shall never be forgotten. We c...

Where is the God of Elijah?

sermon 3.   Where is the God of Elijah? A sermon preached on Friday, 21/12/2018 “Elisha picked up Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen when he was taken up. Then Elisha returned to the bank of the Jordan River. He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, “Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?” Then the river divided, and Elisha went across”─ 2 Kings 2:13. As you have been here tonight, singing and praising God, the prayers we had made so far have been answered by God. Your needs tonight will be provided for you. Say amen! Our message comes inform of a question, which calls for the expectation of absolute answers. Literary critics may term it a rhetorical question─ a question that doesn’t demand for any answer.   But, for the reason that you are here tonight for Jesus the message will yield positive answers for us. You may have heard many things God did through Elijah, sparing him from the wrath of Queen Jezebel who vowed to kill him by all mean...
