DESPISE NOT THE HOLY GOD

₦Sermon 21
                         DESPISE NOT THE HOLY GOD.

“For I will honour those who honour me, but those who despise me, will be cursed”
             ——— 1 Sam. 2:30 NET.

Shall we wave our hands for the living God; His glory and majestic splendor cover the whole earth. Wave your hands unto him because he has made it so possible for us to stand in the land of the living. May all glory, honour and adoration be ascribed to him for he makes everything in his beauty and unfailing love; he makes rain to fall on the roof of both the righteous and the wicked and the sun to shine so brilliantly to every sort of people in the universe.
Chorus – Jesus must be honoured, must be honoured in my life, Jesus must be honoured in my life, everyday!

Brethren, the love of God for mankind and humanity is so overwhelming and requires us to honour Him in everything we do. We can never be humans, unless we learn how to fear and honour God in our lives. Solomon in his ecclesiastical writing says: “Fear God and obey his commandment for this is what means to be human — Eccl. 12:13

It is a man’s duty to acknowledge the existence of God and carry out His duty with extreme care and respect. God abhors any man who does not revere or venerate him. What I have seen under the sun and moon is that we practically respect mere human beings more than our Creator. We fear people, even our wicked children, more than the Holy One of Israel. I would like to take you back to the story of Eli and his two wicked sons – Hophni and Phineas. These two sons of Eli were so wicked and arrogant to the extent that they became touts and militant in the sanctuary of God. The daughters of Zion who served in the temple of God were raped with uttermost contempt. They feared not God and did not carry their priestly duty very well and what was due to God was abhorrently treated with contempt and impunity. What a mess! The worst part is that their father feared them more than God and even when he attempted to rebuke his sons for their wickedness, he was not so serious. He said it in such a way that his sons may not rebel against him. He was frightened. This means when we see things happening in such a way that do not please God and keep silent to say wrongs are bad, we are in support of such evils. Say to the wicked to turn away from his wickedness and God will know that you have spoken it out. This is where Eli was guilty because he honoured his sons and despised God and God arose in irking fury to forewarn Eli and his members of his entire household that: “He will honour any man that honours Him and despise any man that despises Him”— 1 Samuel 2: 30. This expression of inner feelings has both positive and negative connotations but now that Eli and his two sons despised God, the tragedies derived from it fell upon them.

I wonder why some ministers of God have no respect even to the one who has chosen them to serve in His temple. They tend to dance according to the tune of mere human beings. In the days of Malachi, the Israelites were so disobedient and ministers or priests of God followed them. This caused God to put it to them in a way that sounded so touching and emotional: “A son honors his father and a servant respects his master. If I am your father and master, where are the honour and respect I deserve? – Malachi 1:6. God is still asking us this question; what are his honour and respect? God is someone we should approach as a king. Yes! He is the king of the whole universe. We should not show contempt to his name and to anything that has been consecrated in his name. But the priests at Malachi’s days did by offering defiled sacrifices on the altar to the name of the Living God by giving God the gifts that are not worthy and presentable. Christ says in my own language that if you really want to give God something that you should first of all present it to your village king and when he is pleased with it, then you can bring it before the alter of God.

What does it mean to us? It means that God deserves our honors and respects.

Brethren, I encourage you to honour God in your income, business, and education and in your life-style. We should keep on obeying His commandments, do what is right to do and desist from any sexual lust and immorality because our bodies are the Temple of God. If we do this, God will richly bless us and as he has promised us, he will honour us in any business we undertake.

————Meditation Point—————————
Lord Jesus, I declare solemnly that I will honour you in my life. May your grace be sufficient to me. Amen!

EVIL DISEASE

sermon 2. EVIL DISEASE A sermon preached by Fortune Nwaiwu on 23/12/2018 “A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honor, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it, this is vanity, and it is an evil disease,’─ Ecclesiastes 6:2 KJV. Brethren, as we are all here this hour, I want you to know that the diseases people suffer from are not only HIV/AIDS, diabetes, typhoid and malaria or any other infections either curable or incurable. Our today’s homily will point out some areas that will enable us know the kind of diseases that have infected many people which most of medical doctors have not discovered but they fail to research in the scriptures as the anchor of their professions. King Solomon, the preacher discovers the most grievous affliction of human beings, a man blessed with riches, wealth and honor which have made him to lack nothing did not utilize his blessings in the fe...

GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU

₦Sermon 18 GOD WILL REMEMBER YOU “Then God remembered Rachel, He listened to her and opened her womb” ——— Gen. 30:22.   Texts: Isaiah 49:15-16, Gen. 8:1-3, Gen. 30:22, Human beings feel that they are being forgotten especially when they are facing trials and tribulations. One thing with our God is that he does not forget his people. He knows the appropriate time to settle our problems; the problem of barrenness, hardship and poverty. To tell us how important we are to him, God says: “See, I have written your name on the Palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:16). This graphically means that every man’s problem is in the hands of God and which he will never forget to solve the problem of his children. Thus, the true picture of what the Christians are passing through here on earth is always in the mind of God. According to the scripture (Isaiah 49:16) for God to write our name on the palms of his hands means that whatever he has planned  for us shall never be forgotten. We c...

Where is the God of Elijah?

sermon 3.   Where is the God of Elijah? A sermon preached on Friday, 21/12/2018 “Elisha picked up Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen when he was taken up. Then Elisha returned to the bank of the Jordan River. He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, “Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?” Then the river divided, and Elisha went across”─ 2 Kings 2:13. As you have been here tonight, singing and praising God, the prayers we had made so far have been answered by God. Your needs tonight will be provided for you. Say amen! Our message comes inform of a question, which calls for the expectation of absolute answers. Literary critics may term it a rhetorical question─ a question that doesn’t demand for any answer.   But, for the reason that you are here tonight for Jesus the message will yield positive answers for us. You may have heard many things God did through Elijah, sparing him from the wrath of Queen Jezebel who vowed to kill him by all mean...
